About Me

I’m Youri Janssen, an all-round project engineer with a passion for building creative technical solutions. With a background in both mechanical and electrical engineering, I specialize in prototyping, functional design, and project coordination. I enjoy tackling complex challenges that require hands-on innovation — from designing custom PCBs to creating 3D-printed parts that turn concepts into real, working systems.

📘 My Story & Engineering Journey

Jul 2003
Where it all began..

Born in Maastricht, the Netherlands — raised in Elsloo, Limburg. From a young age, I was fascinated by how things were made and how they could be improved.

2013
Early Curiosity Sparked

Spent countless hours building LEGO with my grandfather. That’s where my love for design, building, and creative problem-solving began.

2016-2020
Technical Foundations

Completed PIE (Production, Installation & Energy) at Graaf Huyn College, where I learned core fabrication skills like CNC milling, 3D Printing, welding, and sheet metal work — giving me my first real hands-on engineering experience.

2018
Techniek Award Winner

Built a soda machine and automated roller shutter system for my room.
Won the Techniek Award, and used the prize money to buy my first 3D printer — the tool that pushed me further into prototyping and design.

2020-2024
Engineering Studies (MBO4)

Studied Technicus Engineering at Summa College on the TU/e Eindhoven campus. Focused on mechanical and electrical design, CAD, and project execution. Gained experience in both practical and theoretical aspects of engineering.

2024–Present
Living Independently, Building Constantly

Now based in Panningen, Limburg. I’m focused on expanding my knowledge through books like Shigley’s Mechanical Design, and preparing for SolidWorks CSWP certification.
Outside of engineering, I build watches, lift weights, and train kickboxing — always improving, always building.
